WHAT IS BOWEN AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Bowen Technique is a gentle form of body work in which very subtle moves performed over the muscles and connective tissues send messages deep into the body, retrieving memory of a preferred, relaxed and balanced way of wellbeing.
The Bowen Technique does not use forceful manipulation, and therefore the body remains in a completely relaxed state throughout the entire session. The technique addresses not only musculo-skeletal framework, but also the fascia, nerves and internal organs.
Results are quite often remarkable, even from the first session; often only a few sessions are needed to correct the presenting problem. Once the body has corrected the issue there is no need to continue with further treatment, unless there is a re-injury, illness or a new presenting condition.
IS BOWEN FOR EVERYONE?
The Bowen Technique is extremely gentle and is considered appropriate for anyone from pregnant women and newborns, to the frail and elderly. It assists in the body’s recovery from an incredibly extensive list of conditions. Here are some conditions that Bowen should be considered for.

Patients are encouraged to seek treatment even if the condition is long standing. In all cases and especially Stroke, Sport injury and Car accidents, the sooner treatment is administered the less chance the condition has of anchoring itself in place.
“The cure of the part should not be attempted without treatment of the whole, and also, no attempt should me made to cure the body without the soul, and therefore if the mind and body are to be well you must begin curing the mind; that is the first thing. For this is the great error of our day in the physical treatment of the human body; that physicians separate the soul from the body.”
